Names For A Male Cat
15 Mar 2010
One of the most difficult things for cat owners is choosing the right names, I think.
If you have a male cat, there are many male cat names that you may find worthy. What do I mean by saying worthy? I mean that the name of your pet should somehow suit him.
Thus, pay attention to physical traits and personality. For instance, if you pet a black cat, the names Onyx, Night or Smokey will suit him well. If your cat is white, he won’t mind being called Snowball or Icy.
If you want to give him some worthy royal names consider Pharaoh, Prince, King, Czar, Emir or Duke. You can also choose from names used in movies and cartoons like Orlando, Yum-Yum, Tom, Tarzan, Pluto and others.
Giving a musician’s name also sounds interesting. You can give him the name of your favorite composer– Mozart, Beethoven or whoever you like.
Consider the names of the places you love. For instance Rome, Alaska, Paris, Egypt, Britain, Milan and so on. It’s not a bad idea to name your pet after a place that always calls sweet memories to your mind.
Finally, I want to tell you how I chose a name for my cat pet. First, I decided to look for some interesting male cat names on the Internet. The first three I found– Einstein, Sleepy and Wizard–did not actually suit him. Though my cat was smart, I did not think he was smart enough to be called Einstein. As for Sleepy, it was not about him at all. The last one, Wizard, simply made me laugh.
I decided to choose an interesting name that had something mysterious about it. I love the mysteries of Egypt, it’s the country I have always wanted to visit. I also learned that in Ancient Egypt cats were thought to be sacred creatures. So I decided to give my cat a name from this country’s history. First, I thought about naming him Egypt, but then decided on Anubis, who was an Egyptian god. I think it sounds quite original.
