Proper Care of Horses

Proper Care of HorsesHorses are people’s irreplaceable friends. They are noble and lovely creatures.

But before you keep a pet horse, there are some things which should be taken into consideration, especially if it’s your first experience.

For instance, horses don’t like when someone pats them. That’s what usually irritates them much. They also don’t like petting, especially the legs, face, flanks and ears. Otherwise, they may bite you. While petting is what horses can’t tolerate, scratching pleases them greatly. Horses also like it when someone talks to them in a soft voice and speaks nice words.

Try not to offend your pet horse even if he does the things you hate. For instance it may be nuzzling.  Don’t shout– teach it not to behave that way.

Improper care may cause such problems as an off-feed and debility. Off-feed is a state when horses refuse to eat and is caused by many factors: indigestion, overwork ,error in feeding, watering and management. It may also be caused due to unfavorable climatic changes and infections. The signs of off-feed are food waste and refusal to eat.

But debility is a more serious problem. It’s a state when body parts can’t withstand the strain of movement.  The main sign of debility is weight loss.

Avoid disastrous errors in management which can lead to sad consequences. Before you keep a pet horse, learn how to manage him. Feed your horse properly, be kind and affectionate.

You may also develop your horse by training. Undoubtedly horses can do amazing things. You have probably seen lots of their funny jumps on TV or in the circus. When training a horse, first of all be patient. Screaming and shouting won’t assist you in accomplishing your task.

By training your horse, you can gain the results you expect to see from him.
