My Lovely Scary Pet

How do you find the idea to have a pet snake?
Recently this idea came to my mind, and it shocked my family members. I used to have a pet cat, a dog, a hamster, even a lizard, but I have never had a snake. Why not to try it?
As I didn’t know much about snakes, I decided to look for some helpful information on the Internet before hosting one.
I learned that snakes eat killed prey such as rats, mice, small mammals, birds and insects. Of course, you can’t offer your snake real mice and rats, but you can find food for snakes at the pet stores. Snakes also need warm heating and certainly gentle caress.
There are four main types of pet snakes, which are considered best to keep at home: corn snakes, kingsnakes, gopher snakes and ball pythons.
Having a big long snake at home isn’t very comfortable, that’s why it would be a good idea to choose a snake that doesn’t grow too long. Corn snakes are perhaps the best choice, because they rarely grow more than six feet. Besides, it’s not hard to tame them and they like to wrap around hands. Thus, for the first-time keeper a corn snake is a good choice.
A kingsnake can also make a good pet. Kingsnakes grow about four-six feet long and are quite captive. Besides, kingsnakes are not picky about food.
Gopher snakes grow over six feet long. These snakes do not like caressing and wrapping around so much. They simply choose one direction when creeping. So I have decided not to choose this one though it was in the list of best snakes to keep.
Finally, I turned to a ball python. Ball pythons eat well and rarely grow more than five feet. They also have a beautiful skin color. When I read it I was about to choose a ball python. But then I read that they are docile and can bite. Though a ball python is non-venomous, I didn’t need a snake that is reluctant to bite.
After all, I decided to stop my choice on a corn snake. I don’t know how my family members will meet my pet snake. But I already imagine the way I caress it and how it wraps around my hands.
