My Extraordinary Pet
29 Mar 2010
When I decided to bring home a pet lizard, my family members found my idea simply not a good one. Yet nothing could stop my great desire.
Now it’s about four months that I enjoy my time with my stripped pet. I love it very much and I just can’t understand why some people scream when they see him.
Before choosing a lizard I read a lot about their types and care. Finally, I decided on leopard gecko. Why leopard gecko? Because the color attracted me very much and it’s easy to take care of him. Now as a lizard owner I’ll try to provide you with some useful information.
The lizard’s food must be nutritious and healthy. For instance, I feed my lizard with lettuce, orange slices and special insect food, which can be found at pet stores. Leopard gecko is a nocturnal creature. So it’s preferable to feed him at night as at that time he’s very active. Though a leopard gecko does not drink much, you need to put a water dish in his cage. So, you don’t have to bother when he’ll want to drink.
Sometimes lizards look for a place where they can hide, so such a place in the cage.
As for caress, lizards usually don’t mind it, but if you find that your lizard resists, wait for some other time.
While some people think that lizards are stupid creatures, I have noticed that they do recognize their owners.
So if you’re thinking about bringing home an interesting extraordinary creature, pet lizard will suit you well.
